Milford Academy duo still committed to UConn

UConn already lost one recruit who spent the fall semester at Milford Academy when tight end Jordan Fuchs flipped to Rutgers. With Milford Academy hosting its 25th annual combine recently with a host of Division I coaches coming to the New Berlin, N.Y. campus to check out the Falcons' players, there was some concern that UConn commits Jamar Summers and Chasz Wright could be plucked away by another school.

However, when I spoke to Milford Academy coach Bill Chaplick last night he said that both Summers, a cornerback from Orange, N.J., and Wright, an offensive tackle from Woodbridge, Va., are firmly committed to UConn and both intend to be enrolled when the spring semester at UConn begins on Jan. 21.

UConn has to feel fortunate that Fuchs is the only committed player to slip away so far and with the process of naming of head coach heating up, if the Huskies only lose one committed recruit during the months without a full-time head coach that would be an enormous boost to the program.
