UConn commits earn all-conference honors

A pair of UConn commits from Pennsylvania earned all-conference honors over the last couple of days.

Alec Bloom, a tight end for Ligonier Valley, was named the Southern Alleghenies Football Coaches Association offensive player of the year after catching 45 passes for 830 yards and 12 touchdowns in eight games in an injury-shortened senior season.

Luke Carrezola of Neshaminy High earned Surburban One League National Conference first-team honors on offense as a tight end and defensive as a defensive end.

Carrezola caught four passes for 45 yards and helped the Redskins average 281 rushing yards per game en route to a run to the Pennsylvania AAAA semifinals.

Carrezola finished with 56 tackles, 20 tackles for loss and eight sacks to lead Neshaminy to a 13-2 record.
