Sophomore running back Joe Williams, who was expected to push for significant playing time, has been suspended indefinitely from the team for a violation of team rules.

Williams' combination of power and speed has led to heightened expectations since he arrived at UConn last January.

It should be noted that players have returned to play at UConn after being suspended with center Alex Mateas the most recent example but only time will tell if that happens with Williams.

John Silver of the Manchester Journal Inquirer has reported that Williams was arrested on Friday and charged with credit card theft and sixth degree larceny.
