UConn to face Boise State in 2014 and 2018
UConn and Boise State, programs once thought to be in the same conference, will be playing each other after all.
UConn announced that it has agreed to face Boise in a home and home. The series kicks off with a game at Rentschler Field on Sept. 13, 2014 and the return game is Sept. 8, 2018.
Boise State has the best winning percentage (.875) and average points per game (41.0) since the start of the 2000 season.
"There will be a tradition here of playing some high level teams each year outside the conference and I think in the last month I think we have demonstrated exactly what that commitment is, those are pretty high-level teams," UConn coach Paul Pasqualoni said.
It was also announced on Wednesday that East Carolina is joining UConn's yet to be named conference or at it should be called "The Best of What Is Left" Conference in all sports as of July 1, 2014. Originally East Carolina was supposed to be added for football only but a few defections later led to the change.
Here's a look at UConn's non-conference schedule in the upcoming years with some openings still needed to be filled
