Nearly all hands on deck for first practice
After a spring camp where a calculator was needed to keep track of how many players were unable to practice, preseason camp began with pretty much everybody able to go for UConn.
The only player on UConn's two-deep chart who did not practice was linebacker Graham Stewart who was the best man at his sister's wedding and wasn't at practice.
The most pleasant surprise might have been running back Martin Hyppolite who missed all of spring camp due to a hip injury suffered when he was a passenger in a car involved in a fatal accident. At AAC media day on Tuesday UConn coach Paul Pasqualoni wasn't sure how much Hyppolite would be able to go but Hyppolite showed the most burst of any of the running backs.
"I was worried about Martin today," Pasqualoni said. "I asked him towards the end and he said ‘Coach I am fine.’ Looking like he was cutting well so that was a huge plus for us."
