Chris Britton still in holding pattern

I was hoping to report the prep school that UConn signee Chris Britton is planning to enroll at this fall before heading to UConn in January.

However, I just spoke with Britton's high school coach and Harrisburg High coach Calvin Everett said it is still an ongoing process.

Britton,a linebacker who had 125 tackles as a senior at Harrisburg, has three likely options according to Everett. Either Fork Union or Milford Academy are possible prep-school destinations. Fork Union will have former UConn commit in Jalan Branford on its team this fall while UConn signees Jordan Fuchs, defensive back Jamar Summers and offensive tackle Chasz Wright are already at Milford Academy.

Everett, who spoke with Britton's mother yesterday, didn't rule out that Britton could still enroll at UConn this fall. In my opinion, that seems to be the least likely of the scenarios since if the Huskies wanted Britton up in Storrs, he would already be up there. There have been some departures from UConn so perhaps Britton could fill in one of the vacancies.

Everett said that time is running short so look for a decision to be made in the very near future as in tomorrow or perhaps early next week.

I am still waiting to hear back from people at Dunmore High School to see where UConn signee and former Dunmore lineman Michael Boland will enroll this fall.

Assuming Britton and Boland follow the path of Branford, Fuchs, Summers and Wright and enroll at UConn in January, the Huskies are up to 12 commitments with the recent addition of Kent lineman Trey Rutherford. Rutherford is originally from Ontario and played at Villanova College in King City, Ontario.
