Powerful first-hand account from former UConn QB Casey Cochran

Whoever has spent time around former UConn quarterback Casey Cochran knows he is mature beyond his years. It is something that served him well in high school and during his time at UConn and will continue to do so moving forward.

Cochran's football career ended when he suffered his 13th concussion in the 2014 season opener. He has remained involved in football most recently working with the UConn Radio Network team's coverage of the football games. Cochran took the step of using his own trials and tribulations as he embarks on life while dealing with the impact of the head trauma he has suffered. He could have handled it privately but understanding how important of an issue it is, he used the Players Tribune to give a powerful first-person account of not only the play that ended his football career but the challenges he faces moving forward. Cochran took it a step further, providing his personal email address for people to reach out to him.

I can't urge you strongly enough to check out Casey's entry titled "13 Concussions."
