AAC honors UConn's Taylor Mack
UConn senior cornerback Taylor Mack was named the American Athletic Conference's Defensive Player of the Week after he had two fourth-quarter interceptions in Saturday's 28-17 win over Rutgers.
It was the first multi-interception game for a Husky since 2010 and matched Mack's career interception total coming into the game. Mack also had seven tackles in the game.
It's the second straight week that a player from UConn earned that distinction as Yawin Smallwood was last week's winner. UConn did not have an individual AAC award winner this season before Smallwood was honored.
Freshman Casey Cochran was named to the honor roll after throwing for 311 yards and two touchdowns.
