UConn's Mack honored by CFPA

UConn senior cornerback Taylor Mack, who became the first UConn player since 2010 to have two interceptions in the same game, was among 13 defensive backs to receive honorable mention recognition in the weekly College Football Performance Awards.

Mack's first interception came with 11 minutes to play in the game as he got his hands under a low throw from Rutgers quarterback Chas Dodd. The play had to be confirmed through an official review although Mack was never worried that his second interception was going to be reversed.

"I did (make the interception)," Mack said with a laugh after the game. "It’s the million dollar question. It just kind of fit right in when I rolled over I was kind of juggling it but I could hold it up to show that I caught it. The replay showed that it was a catch."

With 1:58 left he stepped in front of another pass by Dodd. The two interceptions matched his career total coming into the game.
