Former UConn stars McClain, Todman cut; Smallwood to IR

I count 16 former UConn products on NFL rosters as teams got down to the mandated 53-man rosters today.

Veteran defensive back Robert McClain and running back Jordan Todman were cut by New England and Carolina respectively while the Tennessee Titans placed linebacker Yawin Smallwood on injured reserve.

Three receivers are among the former Huskies to make the cut. Buffalo Bills special team dynamo Marcus Easley was considered a lock to make it but Geremy Davis and Nick Williams had to play their way onto the rosters of the New York Giants and Atlanta Falcons.
