I said I'd like to see more games against other big conferences (aside from the ACC, which I have no problem with but tend to be bland).

Iowa State is coming to the Runway sometime after 2007.

UConn has also secured or is close to securing home-and-homes with Iowa, Northwestern, Vanderbilt and Baylor.Chip Malafrontehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16434685563004301748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159883580703747192006-10-03T09:53:00.000-04:002006-10-03T09:53:00.000-04:00Interesting comments, especially regarding Santos....Interesting comments, especially regarding Santos. Anyone with any familarity with his situation knows 1-A schools steered away due to very dodgy academics. UNH is a good, very experienced 1-AA team that beat a very bad Northwestern team.

Most people who are familiar with the current verbal commitments know they are viewed as more talented players than past recruits. There's no guarantee, but with or without any direct knowledge it's easy to just take shots at UConn this week. Every school needs QBs, but it's not like UConn is not aggressively recruiting potential players.

It didn't help that Billy Cundiff got homesick or didn't expect to play in front of Dennis Brown, but it's October. Recruiting is ongoing, and it's easy for some people to be pessimists. What none of us really know is which players may be seriously considering UConn or may have already silently committed.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159850428094599872006-10-03T00:40:00.000-04:002006-10-03T00:40:00.000-04:00And one more just to clarify. And what else really scares me is that knowing Edsall, if he thought Dennis Brown could win games, Dennis would be in there.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159850218329255062006-10-03T00:36:00.000-04:002006-10-03T00:36:00.000-04:00Off the top of my head...Kashif Moore WRCody Endr...Off the top of my head...

Kashif Moore WR
Cody Endres QB
CJ Marck LB
Gary Bardzack OL
Anthomny Sherman Lb
Dave Teggart KR/P

This class doesn't look so much better than any of the previous ones. We just got some committs earlier this time. But don't worry I'm sure Edsall will pull in 15 more sleepers that nobody else wants.

I remember hearing what a big deal it was to get Kit Pommels and Dorcelus.

Meanwhile Ricky Santos looks to be the bext QB I-AA history. I guess Edsall missed the boat on that one as well...Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159838204737895992006-10-02T21:16:00.000-04:002006-10-02T21:16:00.000-04:00Too bad the originally scheduled Iowa State game i...Too bad the originally scheduled Iowa State game is pushed off to 2008 or whenever, but that's a decent 2007 home schedule with 3 probable 2006 bowl teams (Louisville, Navy, and Rutgers). Even the away schedule is pretty good, because there are a good number of UConn alumni and former CT residents in NC, VA and the mid-Atlantic.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159835509231586462006-10-02T20:31:00.000-04:002006-10-02T20:31:00.000-04:00It's time to seriously call into question the dire...It's time to seriously call into question the direction that this program is headed in.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159822574649803492006-10-02T16:56:00.000-04:002006-10-02T16:56:00.000-04:00Chip - I was at the BC/Maine game on saturday, and...Chip - I was at the BC/Maine game on saturday, and let me tell you, the Huskies might have some trouble with the Black Bears next year. They didn't exactly look good, but BC couldn't put them away. UConn needs to improve, and fast, or we might be looking at some embarrassing losses.
Oh yes, and GO TIGERS.
JimJim Bartonhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09651261023373163679noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159813514553578972006-10-02T14:25:00.000-04:002006-10-02T14:25:00.000-04:00To clarify: UConn's non-league schedule for next s...To clarify: UConn's non-league schedule for next season is at Duke, at Virginia and home with Maine, Navy and Temple. That comes right from the UConn SID office.

Don't know the date of the Iowa State game, but it's not until at least 2008.Chip Malafrontehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16434685563004301748noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159808343791254812006-10-02T12:59:00.000-04:002006-10-02T12:59:00.000-04:00Chip, You may have forgot or never knew that UConn...Chip, You may have forgot or never knew that UConn plays the Big 12's Iowa State next season at Rentschler and has a home-and-away with Baylor later this decade. Similarly, UConn will play a home and away against Iowa and I believe has games scheduled or is working a series with Northwestern. UConn also has games against the sixth best BCS conference schools, including UNC, UVA, and Duke. It would be great to schedule a basketball/football combined series with Washington, Cal, or Arizona. Let's stay away from USC until after they've been on probation for a few years.

When did Tony move from East Haven across the Quinnipiac River to West Haven? Quite the cover for your blog's biggest "UConn hater". With endless sarcasm, he seems like a really well informed guy and keen observer of 99% of the UConn fan that were disappointed with the Huskies showing on Saturday.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-31590763.post-1159802513060623062006-10-02T11:21:00.000-04:002006-10-02T11:21:00.000-04:00I'm sure Chip knows this, but the reason UConn pla...I'm sure Chip knows this, but the reason UConn played Miami and VTech was that they had to as part of the process of joining the Big East.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
